In Roman Catholic theology, limbo is a place where souls who died without baptism are held. Although not condemned to punishment, they are not allowed to enter heaven.
Limbo can also refer to a state of uncertainty or confusion, especially when someone is waiting for a decision.

The Trials In Limbo
