The citizens of District Ten provide no warm hug towards the orphaned girl, spitting and scoffing at the very sight of her. She learned quickly that people like her shouldn't expect much. Especially not the love of a family or a home.

Living in an abandoned barn at the cusp of the District has taught her many things. The most important being survival skills. How to hunt and when to hide. How to tell poisonous from edible. How to kill a bird in a flick of her hand.

Yet when it comes to the Hunger Games - the place to show off her knowledge - she seems to freeze. Beatrix seems it best to just let nature take its course. Even if that means being slashed or stabbed by the careers. She just hopes they get it on camera. _________
