In a world where mythical creatures and humans coexist, Rieka Moonshadow, a young woman with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf, discovers her unique powers during a mysterious and strange attack on her village. As she learns to control her abilities, carrying the sadness of everything she had lost, Rieka meets people like her all together in a big sanctuary, each with their own animal forms and unique powers. She also learns that there are other forces alike to them out there, but with a motivation of evilness and shifty tricks led by Ingrid Nightingale, the witch shifter. In this seemingly endless journey, Rieka becomes close friends with Thorne Ironclaw and Marissa Stormrider, who help her all the way through, but at a great cost. They are tested and their teamwork and friendships are trialed as they race against time to complete their mission. The shifters believe Rieka to be the girl in the foretold prophecy and one of the strongest mythical creatures to walk the planet. But can Rieka push aside her hesitance and gather up her courage to take her place as the leader of the shifters and rally them to fight the forces of evil before time is up?
