He has to help at once and convince Wei Wuxian to not hold it against Lan Wangji and the Gusu Lan sect. He had to take care of him and help him recover from his surely unpleasant trauma. The thing is, Lan Xichen has also come to understand why his brother had been so smitten with the boy. Part of the Between a rock and a hard place series, can be also read as stand-alone fan fiction but I recommend to read it after the previous parts of the series.
