Elaine was a simple farm girl of thirteen. She had had long ago dreams of wanting to become a Pokémon trainer, but well past the starting date of 10--she'd given up on the idea and began practicing her writing skills to become a writer. However, legend calls to her, and with her new adventure underway--could she become the hero to her own real-life story?

After visiting with her family and friends in Pallet Town, she headed to Cerulean Cape to visit Bill, who started up Crystal's PC Pokémon storage system. Bill was in the middle of an experiment and Crystal offers to help, which brings her the ability of a Ditto: the ability to change into any Pokémon. That is, with practice.
