Rooted in an ever-growing but dreadful love, the Bernard family faced many dysfunctions from the beginning. Delphine falls in love with Marcel, an ungodly man hidden behind a mask of pure holiness and grace, only to discover his true motives far too late into their relationship. They bring two children into the world, Levigh and Cosette, a boy and a girl...or so it would seem. Marcel controls the family like puppets on strings, Delphine struggles to remain strong in her faith, Levigh finds himself caught in a vicious internal battle, and Cosette lives in an unknowing bliss, thinking the nickname his mother bestowed upon him was nothing but a small token of her love.
