I didn't know what to say, so I stayed quiet. After a moment, Cris gently nudged my shoulder. "You should lie back. You'll hurt yourself more sitting up like that."
There was a long pause, and then, without really thinking about it, I leaned back on the bed, resting my head on his lap.
