(Poetry-Prose Style Writing-A time jump after Lucy leaves Lockwood & Co for good.)
Lucy has spent months trying her best not to go back to Lockwood and Co. She couldn't; staying away was the only way to keep Lockwood alive. Instead, she goes back to the cafe every morning, the same cafe where she lost Lockwood for good, to start the next chapter of her life. With bitter black coffee instead of her sweet tea.But one morning, she sees the new guy from the corner of her eye, wearing a suit with a long coat and a smile that reminds her of the one person she's been trying to forget. Without realizing it, she goes there at the same time he does, as a way to remind herself of Lockwood.
After Lucy leaves Lockwood & Co, Lockwood becomes more careless than ever, going on missions without the proper research or plan of action. He's been asking around for her, trying to make sure she's okay, but he can't find any trace of her. Until one morning when he stumbles upon the cafe, where it all went down, and sees her sitting at their booth. He goes there every morning to see how she's doing, and with time, builds the courage to go in and talk to her. But what happens when he sees she's started a new life and met someone new?

"Running from me already, little one?" The voice was a whisper against my skin, dark and knowing. I turned too fast. Too desperate. He was closer than I expected-tall, lean muscle wrapped in black silk. Whiskey-colored eyes traced my lips, my throat. Slow. Unrelenting. "Do I feel familiar?" I swallowed hard. "No." He smirked. "Liar." His fingers brushed my wrist, and a current shot through me. My breath hitched. My body knew him. Even if my mind refused to. But that was impossible... wasn't it? - Kathryn Laurent came to Paris for a fresh start. What she found was something else entirely-something dark, intoxicating, inescapable. The dreams started first. A man with burning whiskey eyes. A touch that ignited and destroyed in equal measure. A voice that echoed in her bones. In those dreams, he ruined her-slowly, relentlessly-until she woke trembling, her body marked by something that should not be real. Then she saw him. Flesh and blood. Real. A star. A shadow. A presence that bent the world around him. He watches her like he knows every inch of her body. Like he's had her before and intends to again. But Kate doesn't remember him. And he? He has spent centuries remembering her. The past is tangled in the present, passion twisted with possession, love with vengeance. He is both her salvation and her downfall. The man who haunts her dreams and now, her reality. And when he finally touches her, there will be no waking up from it. Some loves are written in the stars. Some are written in blood. And some were never meant to be forgotten. - Tropes & Themes : ★ Dark, seductive romance ★ Fated lovers, past-life obsession ★ Mysterious, brooding hero with a sinful touch ★ Tension so thick it lingers like a ghost ★ Paris-luxury, shadows, and whispered temptation ★ Dreams that leave evidence behind ★ Mature, explicit smut-raw, consuming, inevitable ★ A love too powerful to stay buried ★ The line between fate and possession 18+
