Nika has spent her whole life thinking that she was an ordinary girl, with ordinary friends, and an ordinary life, but she was wrong. She's not an ordinary girl, her friends aren't ordinary friends, and her life is a big mess. Nika is a werewolf. Her father is the beta to her uncle, the alpha of the Silvermoon Pack. Like all werewolves, Nika had a mate, but he died defending her alpha three years before she changed. Now her parents want her to marry another, so she won't spend the rest of her life alone, but she doesn't want to marry another.
Aaron is from the Deathfrost Pack. After losing the alpha of their pack to rogues, his pack decided to elect another alpha. Naturally, they chose Joel, the alpha's beta. Aaron isn't to happy about that little fact. If his father goes through with the ritual to become alpha, that puts Aaron as the next alpha of the Deathfrost Pack. Four years ago, the idea of being the future alpha would have been a dream, but not now. He couldn't bare the thought of being an alpha with no mate by his side. Aaron had met his mate, and he loved her greatly, but she to had suffered at the hands of rogues. Aaron had failed her; he didn't want to fail the Deathfrost Pack too.
Now Aaron is expected to make a sacrifice for his future pack that no were should have to make. Nika is left having to prove that she doesn't need a man to be happy.
