Seraphius is often seen slinking through the dungeons or lounging in Snape's private quarters. As Snape's personal pet, he serves as both a confidant and a guard, using his hypnotic abilities to keep unwanted intruders at bay. Students rarely see him, but those who do know to avoid eye contact, for fear of being entranced by his gaze. His presence is a symbol of Snape's power and mystique, and though he's not openly hostile, he is certainly not someone to underestimate.
