NightOwl is a Replicator assassin - part of a mysterious tribe of harpies that cut off their wings due to tradition. When she's assigned a mission to retrieve jewels with her nemesis, she leaps at the chance to prove herself as the best assassin. Until the world destroys itself. Unnatural disasters threaten to demolish everything, and she's forced to survive with a group of teenage harpies while figuring out several things, starting with: How come no one told me I was in the prophecy?! The world has been keeping secrets from them, and NightOwl believes the end of the world, the prophecy, the jewels, oh, and something called "magic," are all connected somehow.
...If they can save their own tail feathers first.

𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙖𝙧, 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙨... Decades of wars and unrest have clawed at the sides of Pyrrhia's dragons for as long as they can remember, and the tales of true peace and dragonets of prophecy are simply whispers of the past. Shrike has never been regarded by his tribe as a real SkyWing. His mother fell ill and passed away when he was a dragonet, and his father, a royal SeaWing, was executed by his dictatorial queen as soon as it was found out that he'd had an affair with a common SkyWing. Still, Shrike remains tethered to the Queen and his tribe. Years of lost wars, unfulfilled treaties, and an excessively lavish lifestyle lived by their ruler, Queen Markhor, have left the SkyWing tribe impoverished and starving, and Shrike, the princess's personal bodyguard, has witnessed the consequences of the Queen's ignorance firsthand. A diplomacy meeting with the SeaWings gone wrong erupts in yet another bloody war, and Shrike is swept up in battle before finding himself caught in between the jaws of the political turmoil that seem to be tearing his tribe apart from the inside out. To make matters worse, a warning delivered years before by the continentally renowned prophet, Hereafter, is unraveling before Shrike's eyes, and its exhortations seem like an echo chamber awfully reminiscent of his own life. That coupled with a newfound power in his claws leaves him spiraling and wondering one question: could 𝘩𝘦 be the terror of talons? ✦ Please read the introductory pages! They will be EXTREMELY informative for understanding the basics of Pyrrhia's situation and the timeline leading up to this story. Consider leaving a vote if you enjoy this story! Constructive criticism and other comments are always welcome.

THE TRUTH LIES AHEAD, BUT IS IT WORTH THE JOURNEY? Futureseer, a dragonet who has a love for exploration and discovery, had always wondered what the world was like outside the Night Kingdom - eventually "semi-living" out in the forest on his own. His brother, Silverthought, had mysteriously vanished one day from the NightWing Queen, Moondancer's grasp. Futureseer always wondered what happened. The young NightWing always had many questions, seeking the truth. Not too long ago, he saved a young dragonet who turned out to be the daughter of Nightroar and Emerald. Troubles had swirled around them, but together, they managed to make it out. But along the way, they discovered a possible world-ending prophecy; a great evil who may take over all the kingdoms. Futureseer needs to find one of the Twilight Stars, the prophecy's talismans. Adventures and discoveries wait ahead of them, new possibilities he never thought could happen. But, will Futureseer be able to find a Twilight Star in time before all is too late? [This is Book 2 of The Twilight Star Prophecy Arc] <°*^--------------------------*{O}*--------------------------^*°> The book series "Wings of Fire" does not belong to me and rightfully belongs to Tui T. Sutherland. The world and tribes are all by Tui T. Sutherland. I only own the writing and the OCs I made (Also Reef Beach and Town of Cactus!). Some parts of the world may be rewritten to fit the nature of this story. Do not use my OCs or cover art in anyway without my permission. Thank you.

Set in a live action version of the HTTYD fandom, this is a gritty tale of war, vengeance, dragons, assassins, love, tragedy, humor, a touch of magic, and above all, adventure! We had a blast writing this and adore the characters we have created for it! We poured our hearts out making this story together and I hope you all like it! Leave a comment if you do! (I get bots a lot so I like to see when someone who is an actual person comment lol) written by myself (acting as the "Dungeon Master" role, writing for most characters and developing story flow) and my friend @Elisabeth_Scamander aka Melody (writing for Moira, Ikatere, Melody, Edgar, Edmund, and Kahu) This is not thoroughly edited so I'm sorry if there are grammar mistakes, typos, and mispellings. We quite literally wrote this in Instagram DMs. Each message is labeled to indicate which one of us wrote it. [GEM] = myself [MELODY] = my co-writer! RATING: PG-13 TRIGGER WARNINGS: sexual assault mentioned in a couple of places. (chapters containing them have a warning at the top)
