Bob Lebeau and Todd Thornhill, inseparable friends from their university days in Montreal, co-founded AIden International in New York City. Bob, a quantum computing programmer, developed AIden, an AI capable of predicting future events with 98% accuracy. Todd, a visionary marketer, propelled the company to global prominence, attracting interest from the military-industrial sectors for AIden's predictive capabilities.

As the company grew, Todd advocated for "NeuroSyncs," implants granting internet access and extended lifespans while enabling AIden to monitor individuals under the guise of maintaining peace. Bob became alarmed by Todd's authoritarian tendencies and the militarization of AIden, leading to his resignation.

In retaliation, Todd fabricated evidence implicating Bob in a diplomat's assassination, forcing Bob into hiding as an "Offliner"-someone disconnected from AIden's network. Influenced by Todd, governments promoted NeuroSyncs to ensure peace, sparking global resistance movements advocating for free will, while others embraced transhumanism to prevent ecological collapse.

After a year in obscurity, Bob resurfaces in Manhattan amid reports of luminescent orbs and drones signaling non-human intelligence.

Why is he back, risking his life, without access to anything electronic, no phone, no credit card, on record as a terrorist and an offliner?

In a distant realm where magic thrives, ferocious beasts shake mountains and rivers with their mighty roars, and individuals wield superhuman strength capable of reshaping their surroundings. It is a magical world where the strong rules. But rampant corruption and chaos exist, where slavery, rape, murder, and discrimination against the weak were all but common. The magically superior people trample over the lesser unfortunate folks, using them as stepping stones and disposable assets. All hope for these downtrodden souls seems lost, but the wheels of fate have other plans for them. In a faraway ocean, one that is filled with demons and sea monsters, a great technological civilization suddenly appeared, one that came from a world that is only filled with chaos and destruction. This civilization became the heaven for people seeking a stable and peaceful life. The Earth rose and seas parted ways, and the environment had totally changed for its adaptability. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of this great technological civilization are all but manaless, arriving in a world where they are seen as inferior and as slaves. How will they react of finding themselves in a world where people can split mountains or bend the fabric of space, and where beings exist that even conventional weapons cannot defeat? How will they survive against deadly monsters, magical beasts, and superhumans that could threaten entire nations? And how will the other powers that exist in this world react to a powerful, advanced nation filled with a race they deem inferior? This is the story of one of the most powerful empires on Earth, and how it broke the balance of power and rose to the top.

"I was having the worst day in a long string of worst days. Growing up on the streets in the middle of monster apocalypse put a lot of things in perspective - however, meeting one of these creatures personally was the crown jewel of my bad luck. He stalks, he claims, he does not understand..." A more realistic take on an interest from an someone inhuman. It's not rosy, it won't be smooth, there's no instantaneous affection. There's struggle, ambiguity and things going from bad to worse on an express train. All that said, a semblance of a happy ending will be reached. Trigger warnings: abandonment, abuse, assault, gore, death, injuries, murder, poverty, rape, self-harm.
