He doesn't have his mother, father, or siblings. In fact, he doesn't even know who his father is, or was. Is he half-clan? Is his father dead? 

He only has his mentor, Hornetclaw, and his best friend, Winterpaw. But his dreams -and medicine cat, Squirrelfrost- are telling him he's meant for something greater. But what is it? What do they mean?

And most importantly, what DID happen to Lionfern, the deputy of FoxClan before he was born? Is he truly cursed, or is he something greater than what everyone leads him into be?

The four Clans-GrassClan, OakClan, PineClan and WillowClan-have lived in relative balance since the Clans began. They kept separate, save for their Gathering every full moon. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment. Being a healer who suffers from severe anxiety isn't easy, but Twitchpaw knows as long as her mentor is there, she can get through it.
