The One Left Behind

It's Ash's fourteenth birthday and fourth anniversary of the start of his journey. He and multiple of the friends are gathered for the party at his home in Pallet. But Ash noticed something was off with the atmosphere. He assures himself it's nothing, but what awaits him is something way worse than he ever expected.

Or, Ash gets betrayed by some of his friends on his birthday. The people trying to dissuade him from pursuing his dreams take it too far and Ash finds out who his true friends are while trying to escape the traitors. He loses some of his Pokémon and has to start anew in a new region without the support of his core friends or anyone, or so he thinks.
