At the age of six, Dakota's mother, and only family passes away, leaving her to tackle life on her own. For eight years Dakota, more recently known as Kody, has been tossed from one foster home to another, leading her to develop self-destructive habits and to form relationships with the wrong people. Skipping school, running away, drinking, vandalising... and the list goes on. Kody has been abandoned by everyone she has come across, and everyone labels her as a lost case, so much so that she even starts to believe it herself.
When Jake Walker, her brother, enters her life, Kody's world is flipped around. Kody finds herself leaving the busy city for a cattle ranch in the heart of Texas, The Stone Ridge Ranch. There she finds herself living with other four brothers and their strict rules. If there's one thing Kody is known for it's her stubbornness and the transition from being able to do anything without consequences to the polar opposite will be a huge adjustment for her.
