the book in a nutshell:
Luna(19) a girl hated by her family and obsessed over a childhood crush whom she didn't talk to or seen for ten years falls in love with Asher(22) a celebrity in the movie business. Asher is secretly the Luna's childhood crush but keeps this information away from everyone since he is dating her insecure and vain cousin Hayley. Hayley (23) is a professional model who despises her prettier little sister, Anastasia (18) and 4 years ago burned her face with boiling water. Anastasia is apathetic and closes everyone out of her world but only Lucifer is her only exception. Lucifer (22) is Luna's adopted brother, he is regretful and depressed mostly because he watched Luna suffer for his whole life and never had the guts to confront it or even tell her he loves her.
Luna after entering the modeling industry becomes acquainted with Asher and begins to sneak around with him while he is still dating Hayley. Hayley becomes suspicious and begins threaten Luna to stay away from him. As this is going on Anastasia tries to open up to Lucifer but each time he turns the blind eye to her and pays attention to Luna which then upsets Anastasia. One day Ana finds Luna and Ash in a passionate situation and video tapes it and blackmails them with it. She forces Luna to make Lucifer hate her but as a result she failed and the video was released onto the internet where everyone including Hayley saw it. After this Asher begins to ignore Luna, saying it's for her own sake which drives her into Lucifer's arms. Anastasia begins to attack her and causes her to go missing for weeks. Now Lucifer and Asher are searching for her and if they find her alive Ash must make the ultimate decision, tell her he is the boy from ten years ago or happily live with Hayley, protecting Luna from her wrath.
