On May 15, 2019, an ordinary office manager - a husband and father of two little girls - wakes up from a nightmare: a virus brought back from the ISS by a cosmonaut turns people, within a month, into things that can no longer be called human. He could have written the dream off - if his five-year-old daughter hadn't retold it to him that same night, word for word.
The catastrophe is exactly one year away. No one will believe him - not the government, not the press, not his colleagues. That leaves only one option: prepare in silence. Buy the apartment next door. Put bars on the windows. Get a gun. Turn his home into a fortress and wait for the day the creatures that were his neighbors yesterday start climbing the walls of the high-rises.
He thought the hardest part would be surviving until day X.
He was wrong.
