Sadie (Cassidy) Gray was an eldest daughter of an angry lawyer and an unhappy businessman. An older sister to a kid who found solace in the pages of Harry Potter. A girl who daydreamed hard enough and long enough to eventually create her own pages her younger brother could get lost in to escape the world happening to them.
Today, Sadie is known to the world as Sadie Cassidy, the girl who wrote a bestselling series at 15. She attends an Ivy League university, and is expected to come up with her next big idea prior to her book tour while also studying for finals. She is put together, self-sufficient, and doesn't need the support or help from anyone.
Until one night, a night in which the fallout results in her in the passenger seat of her Dad's truck for the first time in 5 years. The father that she ghosted sits behind the wheel, en route to their destination... Nowhere, Connecticut: A town she'd never been to before, that houses the new life that she never wanted to be included in.
She is forced to spend the summer with her Dad's new family, in this new small town, with characters she has no interest in getting to know. She is eager to make it the short term fix it is supposed to be, until Andrew (Drew) Harrison, the son of the local bookstore owner (obviously) and the golden boy of the shore town, bumps his way into her life.
With some writing, swimming, and a friendly Bunny, Sadie begins to rethink her stance on people, and maybe some people are there to stay.

Set in a small town filled with people of even smaller minds, high school senior Paisley Dennis struggles against her family's very strict legacy plan. Every member of her family has attended Princeton University, including her sister who is a college freshman there. She has always lived under her sister's "golden child" shadow and feels isolated when her sister stops talking to her. Paisley's life is made even more complicated by her secret, that she wants to go to the Art Institute of Chicago for photography. She intends to secretly apply with the help of a teacher. Her plans are derailed when the teacher tells her she has to restart her senior project because it lacks a personal touch. The teacher advises Paisley to focus her project on a person she knows nothing about and tell their story through her pictures. Paisley scrambles to find a person in a town she knows almost everything about, almost. She meets Ross Evans, the only openly gay person in town. He opens her eyes to the world and ideas she had never dared thought before. She realizes she may not know as much about Ross as she thought when he disappears and she's the last person he was seen with. Meanwhile, she gets news from both Princeton and the Art Institute of Chicago which leads her to a big decision. With Ross and her sister nowhere to be found she questions everything she thought she knew about her life, her family, and her very small town. This book comes with a trigger warning because it touches on some sensitive subjects, which is why there is a mature rating. Keep this in mind before proceeding. Other than that I hope you enjoy!
