"Don't go back to our old place, it's probably locked up anyway."

Nakamura Akira and Chishiya Shuntarō.

A duo introduced by their workaholic fathers who happened to be business partners. As their partnership took off, they started to forget their own children. This would lead to Nakamura and Chishiya spending countless hours together as children, which made them very close despite their parent's commands, "Don't bother being friends, this is only temporary."

Nakamura and Chishiya were taught from a young age that happiness is never a lasting feeling, and they soon figured that out when their fathers ended their business plan due to disagreements. So, at the age of 16 they were separated and placed back inside the shell they broke each other out of when they were 12.

However, their separation doesn't last long when the borderlands come along.

! ᴇɴɢʟɪꜱʜ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ! Izumi Tsuki survived the Beach. But the Game of Jack of Hearts is different. Here, trust decides between life and death. And in a world where emotions can kill, trust might be her greatest mistake. Inside the prison, she meets Chishiya again-the cold, calculating man from the Beach, whose intentions are as unreadable as his smile. Despite his distant nature, there's something about him she can't let go of. After the game, Tsuki takes refuge with him, believing she's finally found a safe place. But safety in the Borderland is an illusion. Amid illness, fear, and pain, they are forced to grow closer. Chishiya's rational facade begins to crack, while Tsuki learns that closeness in the Borderland always comes at a price. But what if the game ends and they suddenly become strangers once again?
