A young orphan, with a lack of information about his own past, moves to the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. His first day of school starts off with a hitch, but unknown to him he isn't the only new arrival in town. Soon he begins to learn that there is more to Mystic Falls than what meets the eye. And he starts to realize that he himself might be an even GREATER DANGER to himself, than to others.

Although the vampires had disappeared from the town, the werewolves seemed to gone extinct, but the witches stuck around. Especially the Black family who are one of the most powerful witch covens to date, but when vampires come back into town, the signs of it are a whole lot major for them then the town, especially when the Salvatore brothers start sticking their noses in their direction.
