Soon enough the 'secrets' start seeping through the woodwork as a danger arrives to the island and Delilah's world takes on a few new layers of madness. Delilah
Decades ago, the world came to a halt as humanity knew it. Wars spurred the worldwide deathrates to a new high, businesses closed, and much of the new technology stopped working altogether. As if life could not get much worse for the surviving humanity that was left, creatures of the night came forth from the shadows, ready to claim what was left of the world's society and kill those who opposed the new regimen. However, all of this was unknown to a young woman you lived with her small family in a quiet town, hidden from the chaos of the outside world. The young woman who lived in this town was called Delilah, and this is her story. Please note that this book is a slow-burn. Yes, there is romance. Yes, like my characters you may be left wanting more. Good stuff takes time, give this book a try. Additionally, I started writing this book while I was fresh out of High School, I am now a junior in college. While the writing was not necessarily bad, it has improved greatly with the more recent chapters. NOT EDITED VERSION. Delilah got a huge responsibility on her shoulders at the age of 17 when her parents died. The responsibility: her seven year old sister, Alice. They don't know exactly how their parents died. All they knew was that their car exploded, but their bodies were never found, even after the fire was put out. Delilah thought that her life was simple -well as simple as it gets with a seven year old in your life- but what she didn't know was that people were looking for her. For both her and her sister. The mark that they bore behind their neck symbolized something bigger than what they thought was a simple birth mark. It symbolized mate. But more importantly, it meant that they could bare a child with no fertility problems. On the vampire world, fertility is a big problem. It's been thousands of years since a female has birthed a child that has been capable of passing down the vampire gene without being bitten or cursed (the worst and most painful possible way ever) or both mother and infant dying. So finding a female with the mark is like finding your own personal treasure. When Delilah meets her hot new neighbor and finds out he's a werewolf -not just any werewolf but the most powerful Alpha King- will they be mates? Twisted Turmoil
Centuries ago, the supernatural decided to come out of hiding. It sparked a war, all sides suffering until a treaty was formed. All species signed it. While most of the world chose to intermingle and live in coexistence, two countries remained the outliers. North America split into territories. The werewolves took most of the mid- western side, save for the coast that had been more city dominated. The vampires claimed the coastal sides that were city dominated. A few decades after the treaty, the boundary lines blurred but still existed. Witches and humans intermixed; some preferred the solitude the forests provided while others liked the constant movement of the cities. No one was restricted to specific sides. There were stories of others, the fae and merfolk. They had long since died out during the war. Humans now threatened to follow in their footsteps.
