- aspen gibson was a cheery and happy girl, with a positive outlook on life. she was energetic and had contagious enthusiasm. even after the death of her father and twin sister, however when her step-brother mark and step-father keith moved in, and everything changed for her.

- joey lynch was a boy that was dealt the short straw. after looking after his siblings for his entire life he never felt a sense of his own life, until he met her. she changed his outlook on life, gave him something to live for. when his little sister had to move to tommen college due to bullying he never knew that everything would change for him too.
