The Masquerade of The Guilty

Celina Vesperi is the best in her field. She is so great, in fact, that nobody in the city knows her name. Gliding through Velanotte without a trace, she doesn't allow her name to be even a whisper, mastering the art of being completely and utterly forgettable. If the world could know of Celina's espionage skills, she would be renowned for her craft. But Celina doesn't care for reverence, her only goal is survival. And survival means being unknown, even to herself.
Ravi Dahana, however, could be kept alive by those who cower at his feet. His laugh echoes through the streets, winding down alleyways where he eventually corners his unsuspecting victims. The Dahana name has become folklore to the people of Velanotte, sending shivers down the spines of those brave enough to utter it, 'Wanted' posters with his face on them splattered across every wall. Hiding in plain sight worked well when you didn't allow yourself to be caught.
Celina didn't seem to think so, though. She keeps herself at several arm's distances from Ravi, never allowing her perfect crimes to be tainted by his arrogance. When you thrived off of self-absorption like he did, you were bound to end up dead. Celina and Ravi had the same goals, to get retribution on those who had killed their friends and destroyed their families, and most importantly, to find the key to the biggest secret the nation had been hiding. But however loved and praised Ravi was, that didn't mean Celina needed any of his help. That is until she goes to Al Chiaro di Luna.
Celina's untraceable crimes are tainted one night, by one fatal mistake. Now, her face is akin to Ravi's, and she cannot escape the image she has made for herself. To escape her persecution, she only knows of one soul who is suited to assist her in her mission. The man she has done everything to keep a distance from.
But she'd do anything to survive, after all.
