A story that takes place centuries before the events of Race to the Edge, follows the creation and thought behind the mysterious artifact known as the "Dragon Eye."
Zaida Wulfrid, the chief's daughter, has yet to kill a dragon. Unlike everyone else, she doesn't want to. After finding an orphaned timberjack juvenile, Zaida finds an interest in its behavior. Infact, she begins to learn and record the behaviors of all the dragons in the forest. That all goes downhill when her father discovers her journal and tries to use it as leverage against the dragons. Knowing that, Zaida decides it might be best to lock up the information more securely and only share the key with those she trusts.
