His slender fingers dug into my shoulders, forcing my body to the wall. "You sure about that?" he asked, breath fanning my ears, shooting tingles throughout my body.
My breathing faltered. I, Alexus Sendai, had never been at a loss for words. "Yes," I managed to whimper. He pulled away and stepped back. Oxygen flowed through me again. He watched me with careful eyes as I recovered, signature smirk etched onto his face.
"Not so badass are we, Ms. Sendai?" I stared at him in shock. One thought perpetually ran through my mind : I had let my guard down.
