Bruno Madrigal, the family's black sheep, has become a father. However, he hides this truth from those he loves, allowing his eldest sister, Julieta, to raise his daughter as her own. His lies continue to grow until, at last, he takes off with his daughter, leaving behind a grieving family. As Bruno raises Mirabel in secret, he begins to rebuild his life, slowly digging himself out of the web of lies he created. Along the way, he meets new people and watches his daughter grow. But can he face the hardship of admitting these lies to his family after years of being gone?
