All animals are diseased. People eat these animals and they get infected. They genetically mutate due to this infection. People who are not yet infected are in danger. Landon is not infected. He is a scientist with a family and is trying not to get infected. He knows how the disease came to be, and it is up to him to find a cure.

This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? They came from nowhere. Just suddenly appeared in 1990 and made a few cities. Anthros is what they call themselves. They were taller than most humans. cutting themselves off from humans. Humans have tried talking to them but they never responded. Until 2023, they responded. They wanted a way to slowly engage their species with humans. Humans decided to use a transfer method. 1 human for each of the anthro city to the school of that city. They didn't allow any anthros to go to human society yet. There were 3 cities. Garrison, Relondrit, and Muldrow. Landon got sent to Muldrow. Landon is a 16-year-old sophomore. He's 6.5 caucasian with dark brown hair put into a mullet and dark green eyes. But he ain't no jock, he's a nerd, he doesn't have muscle because he's skinny. Like, see ribs skinny. He was quiet, always doing work and listening to music. (heavy metal and 2000s alternative) When the transfer system was close to the end of freshmen year had started. He immediately signed up. And since he was the first and had all A's except for 1 B (it's criminology) He got into it. So over summer break, he was taught by an anthro (Labrador) some of their traditions. The only difference between them and humans is that they 2 things. Every year for a month, the females get a heat cycle. (It's not the typical one. They can control it. It just makes them turn on more and easier. That's it. No franticly wanting sex.) they also have "Species Day". It's where multiple of the same group meet at various locations. Other than those 2 a few word changes. It's all the same between the 2 sides. Just before the sophomore year started. He was moved into the city. They gave him a basic apartment right by the school. They allowed him to bring his stuff. One of those was his bike. (so he can bike to school. Also, you'll figure out more stuff he brought with him later on in the story. Btw, this is not a harem.
