πŸ”βš›οΈEver tried to outrun the laws of physics? How about negotiating with them?

πŸ”πŸͺπŸŒŒWhat's the going rate for reality itself? And what happens when it decides to set its own price? αˆ α‹αˆ !!

Space is vast, cold, and unforgiving - unless you've got the right crew and a fast ship. Captain Sarah Chen has both in the Starcaller, making a living in the shadows between legitimate salvage and outright piracy. It's a good life, if not always a legal one.

Then they find the Keystone.

Hidden in the ruins of a civilization older than human memory, it's an artifact that can twist the fabric of reality itself. Some say it's a tool of creation, others a weapon of unimaginable power. To Sarah, it's the kind of trouble that gets people killed.

Now the Starcaller's crew is caught between the Crimson Collective's merciless hunters, corrupt officials of the Concordat, and ancient guardians awakening from eons of slumber. Every power in known space wants the Keystone - and they'll sacrifice anything to get it.

But the artifact has its own agenda. It whispers to the crew in their dreams, showing them wonders and horrors beyond imagination. As reality begins to fracture around them, Sarah realises the real question isn't who gets to keep the Keystone.

It's whether anyone should.

Feel free to click off if any of these make you uncomfortable. ~β€’~ Something about it was so mysterious about this cave, and I wanted to know more. I entered the cave and saw a red crystal sealed in ice. "Woah." I whispered. The crystal glowed and the ice shattered. I jumped back and fell to the ground, watching as the ice broke completely. My eyes widened and I looked at my hands. "Did I do that?" I asked, but before I could answer, I heard a guard shout for backup as they had heard the ice shattering. I quickly jumped up and stashed the crystal in my pocket before leaving. I crept to the cave the following day, putting the crystal back into the remains of the ice pillar. As I walked away, the crystal fell, causing it to break into a million pieces. I jumped at the sudden noise and stumbled backwards, my eyes widening as a black smog formed around the crystal. "No, no, no, no! Frick." I desperately tried to grab the remains of the crystal, causing one to cut my hand. "Ow! Shit." I whispered, looking at my bleeding hand. "Tch, tch, tch, poor child." A demonic voice said. I looked up and saw that the black smog had two red eyes and a wide, sick smile that was dripping with venom. "I- who are you?" I asked, backing up. "The one who can help you out of here." It said, stretching out a hand. I looked it up and down and before I could answer, its hand plunged into my heart, causing me to scream out in pain. Long ago, when the world was young and humanity struggled against the forces of chaos, the gods intervened. They forged a sword, not as a weapon of destruction, but as a gift of hope. Each god poured a fragment of their essence into it-courage, wisdom, resilience, and strength. It's a sword meant for everything possible. For centuries, the blade lay hidden, waiting for the right moment to be discovered. It wasn't buried in gold or locked away in a grand vault-it rested quietly in the heart of the earth, untouched and unseen, until the time was right. When the first hand grasped the hilt, the sword came alive. Its surface shimmered with an otherworldly glow, a promise of the power within. The one who found it didn't know the gods had shaped it, nor did they understand the weight of what they held. But the sword recognized them. It responded to their strength, their resolve, and their needs. As the blade cut through the darkness for the first time, it wasn't just its edge that brought change. It was the force behind it-the will to fight for survival, for something greater than fear. With every swing, the sword grew brighter, stronger, as if it fed not on blood but on purpose. Though the gods forged the blade, it wasn't theirs anymore. In that moment, it became part of humanity, a bond between the divine and mortal worlds. And for the one who wielded it, the sword was more than steel and magic-it was a companion, a guide, and a silent promise: you are not alone. Thus began the sword's journey, not just as a tool of battle, but as a symbol of what humanity could become. And though its path was just beginning, the gods knew it would go on, far beyond what even they could imagine. (this is my very first novel. I got my inspiration from a nail clipper)
