"Is the world just playing cruel jokes on us all?" That is the main thought to run through her head when she has to fight everyday for the ones she truly loves.

When she is on the verge of destroying herself, there is only one person who could stop it, but where is he? When Kinalani, a 16 yr old girl, is destroying herself and giving her all to keep her siblings from suffering. What happens when issues arise or when her father's health starts to decline and her mother picks up more hours, resulting in her working a lot more and being gone most of the time?

Kinalani is left to struggle with balancing housework, schooling, helping raise her siblings and dealing with the mental health of the household. After about 7 months of pushing through it Kinalani gets used to the change and her mother changes a lot from being her best friend to just the person who gave birth to her and helped raise her before passing on so many responsibilities.

While Kinalani is used to all of it she meets someone who wants to relieve her of her stresses and hates seeing her in pain. When two people are ready to give everything they have to each other, who will get in the way of that?
