My name is Gaelryth, and this is the story of how I changed everything.
Gaelryth is a nineteen-year-old Barley barely scraping by with her drug-addicted father and best friend Gaidric in slum district B6. Life is tough, but seems predictable enough - until Gaelryth's secret is discovered and she is arrested by the vicious Bean guards.
Imprisoned on the sister isle, Beana Minima, facing execution, Gaelryth unleashes magic she didn't know she had. Magic only possessed by the ruling Bean aristocracy.
Eager to cover their mistake, the royal Houses take her in and train her, and to remove any doubts of her lineage, promise her hand in marriage to His Royal Beanship Gaylord, the crown prince and one of the most powerful Beans on the island. As Gaelryth struggles to juggle her feelings for the Beans, she must learn to control her newfound powers and find a way to break the oppression of the royals. Because only she can be the water that boils the Beans alive.

She serves at the castle she was born in, the court of winter. Everyone can command her to do tasks and she has no freedom to leave. Those at the top of this world are the ruling Fae, next are ruling humans, next Fae, free humans, protected slaves and then the banished ones. At least as a slave she has a chance at earning her freedom from a ruling Fae to pardon her. She is also something more which is discovered as she grows up but she must keep it hidden to protect herself. As she masters her skills, she, along with her friends, are given the opportunity to leave and earn her freedom. It's the first step in finding herself and her answers and perhaps it could change her life in ways she couldn't imagine when she was taking everyone's orders in the kitchen. But first she must rescue a prince from a dungeon... (Small warning) Contains suggestions of non consensual sexual relationships of a business kind but no graphic detail. Mac has to save the world and complete the Eldritch Trials to prevent unspeakable horrors from escaping the netherworld. That's going to be complicated considering everyone thinks the Chosen One is his cousin, and he's already dying from at least three curses. This is fine. Magical fantasy/satire. This is kind of a parody of chosen one/fantasy genre's. Basically if you want a Harry-Potter esque magical world, but narrated like the Percy Jackson books, not unlike What We Do in the Shadows level satire, then this is for you.
