A short story about a hopeless romantic struggling with money and dying to propose to his girlfriend. Taking up an extra shift to help pay for a ring he comes across an opportunity to obtain a ring another way through a strawberry shortcake.

Thank you for deciding to read my story! I wrote this short story using a prompt from my club. The prompt was, 'Got Away With It'. I didn't exactly know how to categorize this story but it could be considered romance. Please let me know if you have feed back!

A story of a girl who had been working without any break since she turned 18. She was not a workaholic, but she was intended to work, to not pressurize her parents. "Hey! Can we become more than friends?" he said catching me up from behind as I walk through the hallway, back to my locker. "Oh! Boyfriend! Sorry, I wasn't knowing that." He said as he saw me looking down at the ring I had on my finger, fidgeting it and giving him a small smile. "Hey! No! I'm not committed or something!" I said reluctantly correcting him, as he mistook me with the ring. "Oh! So, is it a YES?" he asks with sparkles in his eyes. "Sorry! But I don't want to get into these stuffs... at least right now!" I said, knowing it'll hurt him. "But don't you worry! We'll be good friends!" I told him to cheer him up. He passed me a weak smile and went to his locker, as I went to mine. Sammie, a 23-year-old girl, currently doing her graduation at Ohio University with Computer Science major and Music as minor. She was well-known girl in her college for her great performance in academics and in co-curricular activities as well. She always used to be in teachers' sight. She had half-back length hair, average height, and a not-so-skinny physique with a friendly, helpful and kind nature always had a ring on her finger. Having a friendly nature with everyone, she still had no 'best-friend' to share her daily life, though she was close to one friend Ally. She was from Los Angles, having a tall, skinny figure, she had shoulder length golden hair, and was so pretty. She would call her mother keep a check on her family living far away in India and would pay a visit to them once in a year or so. What will happen when the secrets of the ring be spilled? What happened in her past? Why did she say no to the commitments?

"We regret to inform you that you have been engaged. We wish you the best of luck with your new spouse. Make sure to come for pick up before seven o'clock. " The message was... well, odd but I was happy to get an address and business hours. Because then I could sort the problem out and get my money back. What sort of message was that anyway? Regret? Shouldn't they congratulate you on getting married? * * * * * Here is my short, funny, angsty overly dramatic ONC entry re ad it. It's kinda cool. I sorta promise.
