There still lay a difficult road ahead - for the both of them - and whatever answers he hopes he will find, whatever path he must have to make - he does not believe it will come easy, or soon, or quick; but for her joy, for her laughter, for her smile - for a life free of all that harms her, all that hurts her, to be in the world again, to do as she likes, go where she pleases - there is no price he would not pay. He would divest all of himself, he would give up his life, his blood, his lineage, all that he could give - if it meant she was free.
(For the only home he has ever known has been here, the one they had built together, the one where they had tended to their garden; that one where he can reach out and hold her hand; the one where he can lay in her arms, and she can lay in his.)
