I was somewhere else. It looked like a dorm room. It was dimly lit and the air smelled like dust and ink.
I saw a girl crouching on the floor, hands trembling as she shoved a bundle of papers beneath a loose floorboard.
A voice-her voice-spoke in a frantic whisper.
"We have to hide it before they find out."
Someone else was with her.
I could feel them.
But I couldn't see their face.
Then-
A name.
Clear as day.
Someone calling out to the girl-
"Elise!"
My breath hitched.
Her gaze snapped forward.

Anthony stops at my bare shoulder and leans down to press a hot kiss onto the skin. "You can't say things like that.."
