Dave Strider is the Commander of the Knights of the King, and the King's younger brother. When drafts come in to become knights, he must supervise and train them to be strong and loyal soldiers. However, when a scrawny boy called Karkat from the Kingdom of Alternia wins a fight he most definitely should of lost, he grabs the Commander's attention. Dave begins to train Karkat personally. However, when it is discovered that the Empress of Alternia has sent five skilled and supernatural Assassins to the kingdom to infiltrate the kingdom, Karkat becomes a prime suspect. Dave will either have to betray his feelings for his student, or risk his life, his family, and his people.
And Karkat will know pain far worse than death. Read to find out what happens.
