Delilah "Del" and Thomas "Tommy" Kincaid grew up relatively different than most kids their age. They were never allowed to watch scary movies (they did anyway), they were never allowed to go to parties (they snuck out anyway), neither of them were allowed to date (that rule was broken long ago), they had been practicing how to shoot guns since they were in kindergarten, etc.
They always knew that their mom had a troubled past, what with being the survivor of a couple of serial killers and all, but they never expected that their mother's past would soon become their reality.
