Sayuri Miyake is a high school freshman living in Tokyo, Japan. She enjoys reading and writing, and is always curious to learn about what's in the world around her. But when she is chased by an evil Youkai spirit in Akihabara, her entire world is turned upside down.

As it turns out, Youkai are everywhere! From troublemakers to dangerous calamities, Sayuri can now see them all, as well as her very own guardian spirit. The world she once knew suddenly peels away to reveal what was once unseen, and Sayuri discovers that hidden forces, both supernatural and human, dictate the state of the world.

But she'll be targeted for her newfound knowledge. The ability to uncover the evils of the world is dangerous. From vengeful ghosts to cults and secret organizations, Sayuri must carefully navigate between them all, and bring light to even the darkest depths of humanity.
