Brittany Fay is a human girl with butterfly wings (we'll call her a Spectral for simplicity), and she wants just two things- to enjoy her last year at William-Beatrice Public School, and to inspire younger spectrals in her school before she graduates and moves on to high school. While her beautiful wings earned her lots of love from other peers over the years, there are sadly some people who will either infantilize or berate her because of her seemingly innocent and fairy-like nature. Brittany's traumatic memories with past condescending teachers resurface when a new teacher arrives at her school. Will our girl make peace with her past so she can be bold when she inevitably needs to be?
This story is an allegory for being on the Autism spectrum. Kinda sorta based on my experience in eighth grade-no pretty wings tho :(
