Sophia, a 20-year-old with a seemingly normal life, is plagued by a series of bad luck that everyone, including herself, notices. Despite having a handsome boyfriend, Mark, and a well-paying job, Sophia often finds herself in embarrassing and unfortunate situations, from tripping on stage to breaking a chair at breakfast. Her mother insists these moments are part of God's plan, offering a silver lining to Sophia's misfortunes.

One day, Sophia's streak of bad luck escalates. After arriving at work, she learns that both she and her best friend, Jessica, are being laid off due to company downsizing. Devastated, she begins packing her belongings. As if that weren’t enough, her boyfriend, Mark, calls and abruptly ends their relationship, leaving Sophia heartbroken and in tears.

Jessica supports Sophia through her heartbreak, taking her home and helping her cope. Sophia's mother, deeply concerned, offers comfort and encourages Jessica to stay by her side.
