"A drop of blood in the golden bowl will bind us to each other," Vaeril looked at everyone's face to see how determined they were to vow their lives to Varick. Kia used the dagger to slash his hand and let the blood flow into the plate. Dan followed, and the rest did it as well. Everyone looked at Briar, who was just standing in the middle of Kia and Declan. "Do you feel out of place because you are not a direct descendant of Rowan? We cannot have the Queen vow for his own son. Your wife was not able to travel here due to illness," Declan asked without hesitation. Briar looked at Volde, seemingly trying to tell him something. "Rowan remains on neutral ground," he gave the dagger back to Gunther. "I didn't expect the beast of the past to cower this time", Declan tilted his head. "I respect that decision, Your Majesty", Varick nodded and there wasn't a hint of animosity in his eyes.

Volde removed the crown from his head. Briar stood next to him. The crowd waited for him to put it on the head of his son. "Do you need me to slash your hands for you to let go of it?", the ash greyhead man asked in a soft tone. Volde gulped and slowly placed it on Varick's head. "All Hail His Majesty!", they all cheered. Varick looked around and his heart kept beating fast. He looked at his father and felt a certain degree of fear.

[A/N]: Hey guys! Before I post this story, I was going to give a little insight. A very good friend of mine and I decided to write this book, and what better way to recieve constructive critcism than to share with everyone here on wattpad? I'm proud to say that we're nearly finished with it, around three to five more chapters need to be written. However, I will gladly post two chapters a week. Depending on the length, I could possibly split each chapter in two. Enjoy! -Skye & Jasmine My attempts to sleep failed miserably as realization hit me. Tonight was my last night unattached to someone. I swung my legs to one side of the bed. My bare feet brushed the cold floor and sent shivers up my spine. Scotland is much warmer this time of year. I took a few steps toward the window, but before I got too far I heard chatter just outside my door. "She’ll never be happy with him." The first voice, a female, was barely audible. "She could be. She’s just upset about Benjamin." A second voice, a man, replied to the woman. "She’ll never love Derick." A hint of anger played beneath the surface of the woman’s voice. I lay back down after that, so much for Emma accepting our marriage. Unhappiness coursed through my body and I became furious. I’d never love Emma either; with that I went to sleep. I dreamt of my mother singing in the castle, her voice was loud and demanding. Her words flowed so freely from her mouth and danced playfully down the halls. She was in the throne room singing to my father just as she always did. Her song was about the way she learned to love my father. Most marriages in Scotland are arranged, and due to our beliefs they have to work out. My mother had always been so madly in love with my father, but he was hesitant because he had to leave the woman he loved so dearly. So he let her go…
Rowans Choice by SPenBooks
44 parts Complete Mature
Completed ✨👸🏼 Born to the fairy elite, the royal line, next in line to take the crown, a queen to be announced on her next birthday, with her royal responsibilities and...one choice... only one... everything else has always been decided for her. "Who has Princess Rowan chosen to be her eternal mate?" A question, oh a question, It was already whittled down by the draw upon her birth, a family name picked at random, to keep this fairy line fair, hardly fair to the one picking, to do so from such a small pool of options. Luckily fairy families were large but as Rowan searched the faces in front of her, five brothers... all handsome, all rather eager to take the beautiful Princess's hand... it was the sister, stood to the left, observing, that caught Rowans eye and if she only got this one choice then it was clear. She had read the rules, many, many times, they clearly state to pick from the chosen families kin, sixteen years and over only, nothing on the gender, not that it had ever been done before but rules were rules and Rowan smirked as she let her choice roll over her tongue. She would choose the one thing her father would be most furious about but couldn't change, her choice, and no other fairy, king or not could change it. "Andromeda" she would announce, finger flexed toward her, and the entire kingdom would erupt in the great hall with shock, as Andromeda of the sky line, was pushed forward by her mother into the mix with her brothers. "Rowan" her father would curse "if you place that ring on her finger your line has ended... please rethink your choice" But Rowan didn't care... and Andy had called out to her long before now, the beautiful brunette with striking green eyes, a daring smile and a powerful magic that Rowan had long admired. And after all... it was Rowans choice... to hell with the rules. *I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR THIS BOOK TO BE COPIED, OR ADAPTED ON THIS PLATFORM, OR ANY OTHER, BY ANYONE ELSE* *Completed February 2023*
The Last Knights of Cambria Book 1: Echoes of Gideon by kullman
16 parts Complete
Gideon Saint is dying for something exciting to happen in his life. With his love of history, he figures an internship at the museum has to be a good start, right? Anything is better than listening to his parents argue or sitting alone in his room doing research no one but him seems to care about. A chance encounter with a magical ring leaves him transported to an alternate version of ancient Wales, or as it was sometimes called, Cambria. 1432 Wales, to be exact. Here magic is the most powerful weapon of all as kings vie for power. Good thing Gideon's teleportation from the present has also left him with the ability to use magic, and he's quickly regarded as a powerful wizard. In this timeline, Wales maintained it's independence, but that's about to change. Henry V is on the throne of the England, and the greatest warrior king England has ever had has set his sights on Wales. Can Gideon help save his newfound friends and master his new powers, while living a double life in the 21st century? Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is vaguely gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family. Characters briefly mention crushes and or dating, no real innuendos.

With Ravaryn on the brink of war, King Orson becomes desperate for any edge against the ever-growing Targaryn kingdom. So desperate, he calls to his rebellious, decorated assassin to murder the crowned prince, soon to be king. Vera is resistant at first, but when the king proposes her freedom in exchange for the prince's head, she reluctantly agrees. The only problem? This mission is near to impossible, and her team of thieves is made up of four teenagers.... and two new additions -a defiant princess with daddy issues and a cold-blooded soldier with a mission to kill. -------------------- Then we stood at the mouth of the sewer, staring into the dark abyss with nothing but a finicky lamp and an unusual team of six rebellious kids. What we were about to do was treason at the highest level. It was hard not to think about as it thrummed in my body, through my blood. My adrenaline was already pumping through me. If we got caught... if any of us were recognized... The consequences were too severe to think about. But, then again, though we faced impending doom, I knew I secretly loved it--the rush. I craved it, sought it out. That's what brought us here, thousands of miles from our home, about to enter the enemy's heart. "Are you ready?" I asked, to no one in particular but saw it fitting. Sophie gave me a weak smile, but it was Sorin who responded, smirking cockily and flipping his only blade into his holster. "Let's go kill a prince."

"THE AFTERLIFE CAN BE A REAL BITCH, RIGHT?" "Henri-" I began, but Henri's hand snatched up mine and squeezed tightly enough to break bones. I bit my tongue to hold back a cry. It was a warning. "Maria didn't say anything about a couple of vampires wanting to meet with her," the green-haired warlock spoke after the area had stilled with electrified silence. I looked Henri's way, and that's really when our situation caught up with me. Wait... "Maria..." I murmured in remembrance, then sent Henri a glare. "Why are we here to see Maria Day? If you don't remember, let me remind you that I killed her friend. Hell, her master. She'll kill me when she sees me." Henri had the nerve to laugh softly. "You're already dead, Antoinette." "Thanks to you. There are other ways witches can hurt vampires, aren't there?" My eyes traveled shortly to the warlocks, Daniel and Zachary, and I shook my head. "She'll burn me alive! I'm not going in there." "You're overacting," Henri said with a dramatic eye roll with a worth of a slap across his face. Lucky for him, I kept my hands at my sides. This night was about to get dangerous... This is Book 3 of The Hunters Saga! 1st draft, so there WILL be mistakes!
