The Love Letter

Here is my love letter to you,
To the once-upon-a-time I shared.
A moment when your eyes held my world,
And I thought,
"This must be my life."

In you, I did not see you.
No insane attraction to you
even though I worded it out in that manner
I saw all my hidden aspects and desires.

The person I wanted to be,
The person I thought I could become.
You were a mirror,
And I loved the reflection.

Now, as I pen these words,
I hope for silence between us.
May you forget me,
As I will forget you, forever.
May the paths we walk
Never again cross-
Not in this lifetime, nor the next.
