"This is the stupidest thing I've ever done, Lily."

"It will work, trust me. We'll get hot guys this summer if we do this-it's called manifesting."

"Fine, we can do it. But that doesn't mean I think it'll work."

At the stroke of midnight, both girls took a bite of their pineapple. Little did Caroline know, this impulsive decision would have much bigger consequences than she ever expected.

Caroline Kealoha has spent her entire life in Kapalua, Hawaii, right next door to her best friend, Lillith Roads. The two girls grew up sharing everything-including a small horse ranch between their homes. So, when summer break rolls around, they're ready to make it unforgettable.

But on the eve of their summer vacation, Lillith introduces Caroline to something unexpected: the Pineapple Pact. The pact promises to "manifest" a hot guy into their lives, but Caroline is skeptical. That is, until two families rent the house next door for the entire summer-families who just so happen to include two irresistible tourist boys.

Enter Finn Morgan and Reef Hayes-two guys Caroline doesn't expect to be a part of her summer plans. Reef, in particular, drives her crazy. From the moment they meet, he teases her endlessly and turns every situation into a competition. But despite the tension and their constant bickering, sparks fly between them, and suddenly, the chemistry is undeniable.

Lillith, who's always looking for a good nickname, dubs them the "PPP"-the Pineapple Pact Pair. As their rivalry deepens, so does their connection, and Caroline starts to realize the impact of the pact...and how much more is at stake.

Will the Pineapple Pact prove true after all? Or is Caroline about to find out that some things in life are way more complicated than she ever imagined?

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. EVERY SUMMER, four families make their yearly exodus to the British seaside town of Briarville. For Livia Wong, the trip had been tradition ever since she could remember. Summer was always spent alongside the pristine beaches with the dreamy-hued sunsets. The trip is awaited with anticipation, not fear. Until this year. Livia didn't leave Briarville last year on good terms. It wasn't all her fault, of course not, but she was partially to blame. Being no longer on talking terms with your two closest friends is one thing. Having them as your neighbours for the entire rest of the summer, while your parents and other friends have no idea something is wrong? The plan was simple: Livia was eighteen, about to head to university. If she made it through this summer, she could leave Briarville in the distant past and never have to think about it again. But it was going to be okay. She might not be on talking terms with the Calvert-Egerton twins anymore, and she might have always been on horrible terms with Sarah Hepburn, but she still had Brie and Lila. And her little sister, Pamela. Still, eighteen years of friendship was never something that would simply go down the drain. Livia had some work to do if she wanted to make it out this summer unscathed. Her heart had been broken once, she was not going to let it happen again.
