Misterio
Aurelius Thorne was a ruthless hitman who inflicts fear onto the souls who run the broken state of Eldermoor. Renowned by the refugees, and the people too weak to make a change in this dystopian world, it became common knowledge that Aurelius never faltered in his deadly craft. Each kill was always executed with surgical grace, and a detached indifference to the lives he took. But one evening, in the heart of the nave of a run-down, and derelict cathedral, Aurelius is approached by a mysterious figure cloaked in dark, flowing robes. The stranger proposed a task, unlike any other that Aurelius had faced before; to keep a man alive for seven days. The man in question was Father Rafé Calderon, a political mastermind whose unrelenting sins made him a target for the very world he wishes to control. Calderon is hated by all for his extreme ideologies which threaten the intricate threads of society. His presence alone casts a long, suffocating shadow over the people he ruled, and the sheer thought of defending a man like that is anathema to everything Aurelius believed in. Refusal would surely risk far more than his life. Success, however, promised more than gold; it could unlock a new life, far from the ever-lasting shadows and violence he's known. Torn between the moral quandary of protecting a man whose very existence is an affront to the world and the overwhelming risk of spoiling his reputation, and potentially becoming a target of the people, Aurelius faced a very difficult decision. He would have seven days. The clock would be ticking, and in a world where the price of failure could lead to his reputation being destroyed, Aurelius must walk a razor's edge.

"Shit!" I muttered under my breath. He pulled open the door and headed for me with a smile that made my skin crawl. I withdrew my gun from my bag and hid it under the table. "Ah Blake Reid. At last we meet!" He pulled out the chair directly across from me. "Who are you and why have you been following me?" I growled. "I'm the man who is going to kill you," he gave me a masochistic smile. I withdrew my gun from its place under the table. It was pointed between his eyes and I took pleasure in the shock that was on his face. He had only gotten his gun halfway out. The staff was still unaware of me holding a gun to this man's head because they were all around back in the kitchen. "Sorry, but that's just not going to happen," I said sweetly. "In such a public place? How brazen of you," he challenged in a shaky voice. "Yes, all the staff is in the back where they can't see us. Oh and if you didn't notice, there's a silencer on my gun. Say good-bye my dearie," I pulled the trigger and sent the bullet through his head. Blake Reid isn't your normal 17 year old. She's an assassin on her last case... or so she hopes. She is having difficulty with memories of her past and can't seem to get out of her shell, even though that is one of the biggest assets needed for her assignment. She will also face many obsticales; some of which she may not survive. Join her in the choas and death she calls her life. (Cover created by Vico96, an amazing friend of mine. Check him out!)
