The Electric State Adapted Alternate Ending

NOTE: Simon Stålenhag's 'The Electric State' inspired the creative response crafted for the Book project. The task has been strongly influenced by a previous Adapted Radioplay Script assignment completed in Term 2, Year 8 Drama, 2024. It has derived the plot and a few dialogues from the script, written by the same author, and turned them into prose, demonstrating a similar appeal and writing style to Stålenhag's works.

PROLOGUE

The following prose is an adaptation of the art narrative, The Electric State. This twist of my own is not necessarily intended to fit the whole premise of the story, however, the incorporation of tension and conflict between two characters in the same timeline. It has been designed as an alternate ending of the story, adapting an additional scene to the second-last chapter of the book 'The Coast'; to demonstrate a personal opinion on the ambiguous ending of the book. The adaptation ensured the accentuation of several thematic ideas that were the undertone of the story.
