This story is a What If scenario based on the Ask Error unfinished Ask Blog. The question is, what if Blue(Swap!Sans), actually chose to absorb the red soul(aka Swap!Chara), and how he would finally get back home to his universe? And so, the name that we came up with(I had a few friends help me with the name because I'm not the best at naming things like this lmao) is called Soulkeeper. So, just for the namesake of characters, and to keep things easier on my side of things, Swap!Sans will be called Blue, and Swap!Chara will be just Chara(and sometimes just Human, because Swap Sans lol). But yeah! That's pretty much all I gotta say! Enjoy reading!

(DISCONTINUED) 'A young girl has just been living her life normally; until she turned thirteen--the age where you can find your soulmate. That was when this young girl and their parents--found out that her eyes not only changed colour, but she also had a tattoo/soulmark.' 'For years humans have been born with the ability to find their soulmates by eye colour. The first emotion you feel when you turn thirteen is the emotion that causes your eyes to change to your soulmate's.' 'Monsters have been able to find their soulmates by a tattoo of something that represents their soulmate. Humans, however, do not have tattoos unless they are a monster's soulmate. If this is the case, the 'soulmark' as it is referred to as, will only represent the monster soulmate and will be the single soulmark used to find the other half. A monster can find their soulmate by either of them touching the other's soulmark without having any bandage or piece of cloth in between them. Although rare, it is not uncommon for a monster to have a human for a soulmate--so what if Sans did?' WARNING!: This was a basic summary, I will be adding in a bit more information! Although this IS an 'X-Reader' fanfic, (and my first at writing one) I will be giving the reader heterochromia eyes. You will be able to choose what the colour of her right eye is--but for the sake of this story, her left eye will be green. 1st Book in a Series! AND YESS, the reader will be female. (Sorry guys!!!) I Do Not own Undertale, it is owned by Toby Fox! I do not own 'reader,' you do. (The cover art is the soulmark.)

24 parts Complete Mature

You were the assistant to Alphys, her co-worker tinkered on a very curious machine in the same department you worked at, incidentally that co-worker was your chosen soulmate. His name? Sans, Sans the skeleton. You didn't really spend any time with him or rather he was purposefully avoiding you, knowing that he also knew you were soulmates tethered by a soulmate connection. The only reason he allowed you to be around was mostly because of your ability to put things into your memory with excellent accuracy to remember important things like a certain blueprint or a recipe for medicinal use. You had tried multiple times to befriend Sans but everytime he looked quite uncomfortable so you stopped trying to force him into a friendly relationship. One night you had been left alone with the curious machine as you had leftover work to do and one event led to another. You wish you hadn't cut the string.
