In the year 2024, a research mission to resurrect the dead went horribly wrong. When thousands of mysterious meteorites crashed to Earth, it carried a deadly virus that not only brought the dead alive but also triggered genetic mutations to the living organisms on the planet. As the virus spread, the social order collapsed. What began as an experiment to cheat death has become humanity's greatest disaster.
Caius Alquizar is the last mutant human survivor in a zombie-infested city. After dying in a zombie siege, his soul travels back in time, to the day before the catastrophe began, twenty-one years ago. With memories of the future, Caius swears to protect the people he cared for and save his past lover. This time, he'll do whatever it takes to prevent the tragedy he once lived through. However, it seems that fate has a strange sense of humor, as his soul has inexplicably transmigrated into a mushroom!
Now, trapped in a tiny, helpless body, Caius must figure out how to survive in a world that will soon turn into a doomed wasteland, all while trying to find a way back to his true form. Can he still save those he loves, or has fate dealt him a crueler hand than he could have ever imagined?
In order to change his fate, Caius has to find a way to survive while facing new dangers from both the undead and those who stand in his way.
