Just about everything is trying to kill Joan Graycastle: the King, the cadets, even some of the Riders Quadrant professors seem out to get her. Her only goal is to stay alive. The longer she's alive, the closer she is to seeing her brother again and the closer she gets to fighting the actual war being waged outside Navarre's borders.
The only dragon almost guaranteed to kill her decides to claim her, though, and throws a wrench in all of her plans.

Status: ON HOLD 9/22/25 Samara (REDACTED)-Melgren finds herself entering the Rider's Quadrant at Basgaith War College against her will, after years of preparation from General Melgren, and by years she means only six. Samara doesn't remember the first fourteen years of her life, and found herself waking up from a coma in the hospital. When she joins the riders quadrant, she finds herself immediately infatuated with a third-year rider with a rebellion mark. Someone who should hate her guts, but he doesn't, instead he's just as curious about her as she is about him. Also, Melody Durran swears Samara's name is something different, since she claims to recognize her, but Samara has no idea who she is. FOURTH WING BELONGS TO REBECCA YARROS.
