Punished...

The hand dragged me on to the sand, while my lungs screamed. I felt weight on my chest. The hand was forcing the water out of my lungs. When I could finally speak and I could open my eyes slightly, I groaned, “Stop”. But my energy was gone as soon as the words were out.

And my vision slowly blanked out again. I could hear the sound of a young guy in the distance. I couldn’t recognize the voice, but I recognized the tone. It was panic. Then a hand felt my neck, trying to find my pulse. I knew it was slow. The same voice yelled out to some others, “I got her. She’ll be fine.” Then I blacked out completely, with my mind in complete darkness.

Katrina, a girl who's been at The Villa for 5 years just cannot keep in touch with reality anymore. The Villa is a containment center in the middle of the ocean for the worst criminals in the world. Her will to live and love is slowly failing her as she is consumed by the idea of deserving punishment. After losing a close friend she's just about to give up, when she sees a new set of eyes filled with pain.

Katrina cannot help, but want to know more and to heal the fake smile he keeps plastered on his face. Together, they try to heal old wounds and Katrina realizes with horror the truth about her imprisonment.

And along the way, she just might just find herself helplessly in love and realize that they both need each other more than she ever thought possible.
