21 year old Gemma Struker has lived with her father in Slovakia since her mother died seven years ago when she was four-teen. Soon after she moved in with her dad she discovered that she was what some people called gifted. 

After her father discovered Gemma's new found powers, she became one of his first experiments. One day Gemma meets survivors of her fathers other tests. What happens after Gemma begins to get close to these people? And what happens when the Avengers come into the picture? Will she choose family, or freedom?
