He reached up to his neck, which felt as if it were still being gripped, and cracked it once. Then, he scanned the room as if searching for something. The white curtains, the corner of the bookshelf, the closed window, the black nightstand, and the posters hanging on the wall. Everything was the same. There was no difference at all. He thought to himself:
