As a sci-fi and fantasy writer, this novel was something completely out of left field for me. But I had a lot of fun putting pen to paper for this one...
Naina Chohan has spent her life running-from her dark past, her insecurities, and the fear that she's simply not enough. Living above a humble super mart in Brooklyn, run by her simple, friend Yousef Saqib, she's mastered the art of survival in the big city. By day, she's just another girl in the city. By night, she works at an elite SoHo club, where New York's rich and powerful treat her like garbage.
When Samir Khan, the perfect man-gorgeous, wealthy, and well-bred-walks into her life, he falls hard for her imperfect, chaotic charm. But Naina can't shake the voice in her head telling her he's too good to be true, or that she's too broken to deserve his love. Pushing him away seems like the only way to protect herself.
As she spirals into the arms of Kunal Khanna, a dangerous man who only deepens the chaos in her life, Naina is forced to confront her past, her pain, and her fears. Can she claw her way back to herself and set things right with the people she's hurt-including the one man who saw her worth all along?
Full of heartbreak, self-discovery, and redemption, "Bakwas in Brooklyn" isn't a love triangle, it's a real mess, where hearts are broken, scars are revealed, and healing becomes the ultimate journey.
